OUR MISSION
Just Love – Greater New Orleans exists to help neighbors flourish—body, mind, and soul—by turning curiosity into care, care into deeper connection, and connection into collaboration across our city.
OUR VALUES
Curiosity: We begin with curiosity because listening comes first. We prioritize stories before solutions, ask questions before making assumptions, and take time to understand what is really needed.
Care: Care is what happens when curiosity grows empathy, and empathy starts moving. We show up with dignity, practical help, and consistent presence—offering support that is real, respectful, and rooted in love.
Connection: Care deepens into connection, where trust can grow, and belonging can take root. We create spaces where people are not simply served, but known, valued, and invited into authentic community.
Collaboration: Connection leads to collaboration as neighbors, partners, and communities work together for the common good. We share strengths and resources so that care is multiplied and no one has to carry the work alone.
Circling Back: We believe love is a rhythm, not a one-time response. So we return again and again to curiosity, care, connection, and collaboration—learning from each experience and widening the circle as we go.

Our Story & Heritage
We’re rooted in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a tradition that calls itself “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” That means we believe everyone is welcome at the Lord’s Table—because that’s how God welcomes us. No fine print. No prerequisites. Just a wide, open invitation.
And when we say “everyone,” we mean it. We work alongside all kinds of communities…Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Atheist, and many more….because we believe wholeness, healing, and justice are too big to tackle alone. That’s what being “ecumenical” and “interfaith” looks like for us: partnering across traditions, building relationships, and showing up together. For example, our heritage has spent over 25 years working alongside the United Church of Christ in Global Ministries, as well as the United Church of Canada, and the Catholic Church, to name a few. In our city, we partner with faith leaders from diverse backgrounds to care for our neighbors in tangible ways through the East Jefferson Interfaith Alliance and NOLA Interfaith.
We also believe that unity isn’t about everyone thinking the same; it’s about staying at the table, even when we disagree, and making room for each other. Our spiritual ancestors had a phrase for this: “unity, not uniformity.” And we’re still living in that today.
