The faces behind Just Love

A group of diverse people holding a banner that reads 'Just Love' during a peaceful outdoor gathering, with some holding umbrellas, near a body of water and a fenced area.

Connection is at the heart of everything we do.

At Just Love, our team is united by a commitment to selfless love and creating spaces for genuine connection and growth. We come from different backgrounds, but we are all focused on establishing love as the foundation of everything we do.

Sam Hubbard

Movement Leader

“Originally from Ohio, I’ve been living in Southern Louisiana for over 24 years now, and I’ve fallen in love with the people, the grit, and the soul of this place. I came into ministry later in life after working in the business and construction worlds. I hold a psychology degree from Northwestern State, a graduate degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, and fingers crossed, one day hope to finish my Doctorate (focusing on something super practical, but also VERY niche).

Throughout my journey, I’ve helped start several new expressions of faith and supported others doing similar work, both in the nonprofit and business sectors. I’ve got two amazing kids (Colin and Faith), and my wife Morgan and I share a wild, beautiful life with our dogs, our very opinionated cat, and a love for traveling, family time, and being outdoors whenever we can.

One bog thing to know about me is that I spent most of my life as an atheist and a pretty vocal critic of religion. And truthfully, I still resonate with a lot of the concerns people have with organized faith, especially within Christianity. That’s exactly why I stepped into ministry: to face those issues head-on and help build something more honest, loving, and real.

I believe the core of Jesus’ teaching is selfless love. Love that isn’t transactional, love that gives without needing anything back. That kind of love has already changed my life and I believe it can change New Orleans too. And I think a lot of people, even those who don’t identify with faith or religion, know deep down that this kind of love is what we all long for.

I don’t believe there are many paths to God or the Divine or the Universe. But I do believe God will take many paths to reach you. And I hope to be part of a community where anyone, regardless of where they’ve been or what they believe, is welcome to explore that journey, and to live into a way of love that’s healing, honest, and wide open.”

Morgan Szeligowski

Community Impact Coordinator

Morgan spent six years in collegiate ministry before returning to school for her MLIS. With a unique blend of organizational savvy and deep relational instinct, she designs programs that help people feel genuinely seen, cared for and connected.

An Enneagram 4, Morgan values authenticity and brings empathy and creativity to every project. She loves people, and loves Halloween so much she starts celebrating on September 1.

Morgan and her fiancé, Sam, share their home with two pups (Loki & Nala) and two cats (Hurley & Lilith).

Chris Davis

Treasurer

Chris has grown with Just Love as his church evolved into this community. A longtime treasurer for Digging for Treasures and a practicing therapist, he brings real-world experience and a steadfast willingness to try anything until he figures it out.

In his role he invests energy into living better each day, showing up and getting things done. A fun fact: he absolutely dreads filling out forms, especially ones about himself.

Chris lives in New Orleans as a single man with two siblings, an older sister in West Virginia and an older brother in South Carolina.
